Mt. Tamalpais

Probably the most beautiful of the three mountains in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Pacific Ocean, San Francisco City, Golden Gate Bridge, and beautiful giant redwood trees make this ride a spectacular loop.

There are several variations to this tour. It all depends on your ambition and riding/fitness level.

Tuntitas Creek

Starting in Half Moon Bay we ride south on Highway 1 for a short stint then head east. Tunitas Creek is probably the most beautiful climb in California. It is like rising in a tunnel created by a canopy of trees. The grade varies but does not go double digit. This is a must do for serious bikers following the Tour of California!

Mt. Hamilton

Speaking of the Tour of California... Mt. Hamilton is nearly 19 miles of climbing. From the West side. As you climb you are treated to grand views of Silicon Valley in all it's digital splendor. The Hicks Observatory tops this climb with great views all around. On a clear day we may get lucky and catch Half Dome in Yosemite! Seriously!

Three Bears

This is a great loop that the locals do. See the San Francisco Bay with all its marvels from the hills above Berkeley. We'll prowl the hills like a Wildcat and may happen upon a Grizzly if we are lucky. Then we'll follow Goldilocks and visit the Three Bears.

This is for the serious biker and not the typical tourist. No offense, but like us at SF Velo, the serious biker wants to experience the glorious pain of the climb, the thrill of the descent and all the other aspects of what the locals cherish so much on the local and not so local loops.

Rides are at a moderate pace and you should be in reasonable physical condition. All tours are limited to 4 guest riders. Lunch, gels, and hydration provided as part of the package. Pick up at hotel and drop off are additional.

When scheduling we will send you information on the various loops that are offered.

**Wine Country tour is coming soon!**
